IN LOVE AND WAR – SCORING SESSIONS
A few days ago I went to Prague to record the score for IN LOVE AND WAR, a Danish feature film that I have been working on for the last couple of months. The recordings were done with a very specific orchestral lineup consisting of a quite large string orchestra of 14/14/12/10/6, 3 Flutes, a String Quartett in a separated room and for one Session and additional brass line-up of 8 Horns, 4 Trombones and 1 Tuba. I’m extremely pleased by how this turned out and the FILMHarmonic Orchestra Prague did a wonderful job. Another specific factor is that we recorded the score in native Dolby Atmos including a height microphone layer, so reflections from the ceiling have been captured to later give a more natural and immersive feeling of the music when being shown in cinemas equipped for Dolby Atmos. Next step will be to mix the music.
Below is a short teaser shot by Thomas Ballschmieter including some passages from the score, captured only with camera microphone.
